Well saying he is the next John Mayer is a bit of an overstatement, but nevertheless Jesse is a talented guy. This artist has been grinding it out for a few years now (including some time busking around Europe) and the Toronto native is ready for his big label debut. We sat down for a drink with Jesse where he also was nice enough to give us a live performance.

  • there are far better entry-level singers/guitarists than this guy...what even made you bring john mayer up

  • lol John Mayer he is not.

  • this post would have been better if it didn't say "the next john mayer" that pretty much killed it.. it's simple. he never will be as good, im sorry. If you really know john mayer as a musician at all, he's leagues away from this guy.

this jesse guy isn't bad, but ur jumping one too many logs frogger.

  • Not EVEN close, this guy has no where near the chops.

  • if HE is john mayen IM Lady Gaga! haha

  • @tejjj3 Only Rock/Blues purists shoot down his playing. In our generation, he's all we've got.

  • @JulianHuxtable I'm not discriminating against open chords, though, if they're used correctly and effectively, they're completely fine. You can't get the same bright and sustained sound out of barre chords (on acoustic).

Sorry for multi-posting. I'm legitimately ADD- I tend to separate my ideas.

  • @JulianHuxtable Just to clarify, when I said simple ass chords, I was talking about mindlessly strumming open chords, with no actual goal.

  • @JulianHuxtable Oh and we share the name. (y). LOL

  • @JulianHuxtable He rarely ever uses simple chords, and when he does, he usually uses his flick technique. The only John Mayer songs, really, that use positively simple chords are Why Georgia, Not Myself, Stupid Mouth and Daughters.

If the chords don't switch keys, and they're not altered, it won't make a difference to the leads.
