1. Civilian model AK47's are semi-automatic not automatic. Automatics must be registered with ATF and local law enforcement and your identity must be registered with the FBI.

2. The AK47 was invented because Mikhail Kolashnikov served in WWII and thought a weapon like the one he would build would be very useful in warfare.

3. Mikhail Kolashnikov said that he was very disapointed that his invention had become the weapon of choice for terrorist organizations.

Yes, I believe arms meant a soldiers weapon that could compete with the current weapons systems.

Liberals will say OH BUT they only had muskets and shit back then, but that's what everyone one else had.

BTW, fully automatic is shit in combat 90% of the time unless you need to lay down supressing fire on a bunker or something. Semi auto is much better and economical.

The AK47 was designed as a way to help the Russian Army and accepted in 1947 if I am correct. It was built to be a cheap but reliable rifle. It is cheap, and that is why terrorist organizations use it, that and they know it has a good reputation for working. Even in bad conditions (rain, jungle, deserts etc.)

Mikhail was not happy that terrorists chose it, but my point was made in it's cheap and effective for organizations who can't afford more.

It really is inaccurate on full auto though.

@drewd1987 Buddy of mine who has served 3 tours and been in more fire fights than he can remember says he can't think of one time full auto was used by him or his team. FA is more usefull for fun than hitting anything.

Poor weapon unless you live on a farm. You will kill your neighbor, and your neighbors neighbor as the bullet goes through 2 or 3 houses. Use a shot gun or a pistol.
