-
@CASteel1 MY SCHOOL DOES TOO. LOOK UP MY VIDEOS I COULD KNOCKOUT OPPONENTS WITH MY HANDS AS FAST AS MY FEET. VICE VERSA... YOU NEED BOTH ELEMENTS
-
¿¿ I TF ?? jajaja .....((( :) WTF ))))
-
@PeedroGx it's about the fighter not the martial art, In my personal opinion i preffer WTF since it uses protection and focuses more into the strongest part of our body, the legs,

guys guys guys. tkd is tkd no tkd is better gah. lets just come together and kick some ass!

Many schools do teach both ways.

-
ITF is light contact only on teory expesially in countries like Bulgaria, Russia, Ucrein(sorry dont know how to speel it) they dont disqualificate for knock out or knock down
-
Well at 2007 there was the first full contact profesional taekwondo tournament in Zagreb so there is Full Contact taekwondo-

Know you history. Gen Choi started TKD in South Korea but wanted to also give it to North Korea. The governmnet at that time used TKD as a political tool so Gen Choi left because he wanted TKD for all of Korea not just the south and did not want to be used as a political pawn.

TKD is TKD. Don't let the sports fool you. Small diffs like sine wave (up and down motion) are even being discarded by many so called ITF schools.
Sport is Sport but TKD is TKD. Sports differ but the art does not.
There are many schools that only teach WTF sport only but there are just as many that teach both TKD and the WTF sport.
The art of TKD teaches self defense and uses all techniques such as joint locks, take downs, hands and much more.
Sport is not TKD. Don't be fooled.
-
Only the sports differs. The teaching of the basics are the same. They both teach the same kicks, the same hand and self defense techniques. There are small diffs like the sine wave but many so called ITF schools have since done away with the sinewave as they have discoverd that it telegraphs and slows down attacks and counters.
ITF = tradition (old ways)
WTF = prgressive (change)
Even with the small diffs many ITF schools are seeing the benifits of them, way no sine wave for some.
-
Many of the so called ITF schools do teach the original forms of Chang Hon but many ITF schools do teach the older palgwes as well.
As for WTF and ITF in competition only the rules have dictated how you compete and why the techniques in the ring look so different.
When you watch the quys over in Korea fight regardless of ITF/WTF rules they still look very similar. Only the crap I see out side of Korea can look vastly different due to lack of skill on both sides.
The basics are the same.
-
Oh yeah the Sine Wave. Many so called ITF schools have taken this out as it slows down your techniques and does not generate any more power. TKD is TKD, WTF does not dictate any teaching of TKD nor does ITF. As for the stanceing, hand techniques, kicks and fighting for self defense strategies they my son are very much the same. You do not get to see that when you watch a sport.
Come into a so called WTF school that teach more than just the sport and you will see that.
-
WTF is a completely different form of TKD to ITF it's not just a different set of rules stop talking you are very stupid. ITF is much better and much more effective deal with it.
-
@CASteel1 re-reading your reply you state that many schools teach both palgwes and teaguk patterns. I'm assuming you think one of those types of forms are used by ITF tkd, not so. ITF tkd only uses the 24 chang hon patterns developed by Gen, Choi. It is however quite correct that the rules of the compettion you enter whether ITF or WTF will determine the strategy and techniques, you employ, that still does not mean that the differences between ITF and WTF are minor, the diff. are quite large
-
@ CASteel1 re the comment that tkd is tkd. Implies that all arts that call themselves tkd are the same with differences only occuring in the tuls, this is not true. If you examine WTF and ITF techniques they are very different as anyone who has practised both types will attest. WTF technques do not use sine wave for instance- sine wave is the up and down movement that is used by ITF tkd to generate power. The technicals of stance, hand technique , kicks and fighting strategies also differ much

TKD is TKD. The kicks are the same. WTF is only a rules commitee for the Olympic style sport.
As a TKD instructor you can teach TKD any way you want. But if you want to compete in the Olympics or a WTF event you must use the WTF rules. Even if you take so called ITF TKD. Also if you want to do an ITF rules match you must obey the ITF rules but TKD is TKD. Many schools teach both pawlge and Taequek forms.
Make sure you understand what WTF and ITF are for. TKD is TKD.

The reason that there is a WTF/ITF split is that Gen. Choi wanted to take Tkd to North Korea.
Tkd belongs to everyone, he said, also Tkd could be a vehicle for unification of Korea. Gen. Choi never recognised the modern split, Korea is one country and has one people. He accused the then South Korean govt of politicising Tkd and left for Canada taking ITF with him. The South Korean govt formed WTF in response. The techniques of WTF and ITF are very different from each other, they are not same
Thank you. Nice video. Still it's very sad to see some amateurs yelling that "WTF SUCKS!" or "ITF IS SHIT!". A word to you all: you're all just ambicious amateurs, who can't understand a thing about martial arts and especially TKD. Gen. Choi said, that you must respect all martial artists, no matter what style or martial art they're practicing. TKD is all about philosophy and morale, and if you put your personal ambitions before it, you have no place in martial art family.
