The history of this video:

In April 2009 a short video was created by two Indians, showing an Indian version of Jingle Bells. The song has been sped up, and is accompanied by cartoon graphics. The creators are Nupur Bhargava (video) and Amartya Rahut (music). It was uploaded by Youtube user Rake5hOne. After some early positive feedback, it went unnoticed for months, until it was rediscovered early December 2009. The short video has since then be posted on several well known webpages like BuzzFeed, and received much success. On December 18, it had been viewed over 61,000 times.

The creators of this video refer to the Jingle Bells version as Punjabi Tadka style. Punjab is a region on the border of India and Pakistan. Its name refers to the "Five Rivers" in the area, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Sutlej and Beas. They all end in the Indus river. The Punjab people are called Punjabis, as is their language. Main religions are Islam, Sikhism and Hinduism.
