Clean Hands is a documentary film that is currently being shot in and around La Chureca, Nicaragua's largest, most dangerous garbage dump. It has been in production since March 2011. This film is about the lives of the people who rely on Chureca for their basic needs, gleaning whatever they can of the garbage to sell or eat. It is a story of the strength and weakness of individuals and families in the face of danger and turmoil. We take a journey with several people of Chureca in different stages of their lives.

Blanca is a woman who is angry at the world and full of rage. Her husband Javier and her four children often bear the brunt of her rage. They have never been to school and cannot read or write. Their destiny seems set in stone until their luck changes and they are able to escape the hell of Chureca. A charity from the United States decides to give them a small farm and educate the children, but it will take more than this to change Blanca.

Luisa Dominga Aragon Morales is a 26-year-old prostitute and glue addict who abandoned her baby for drugs, and is dying of AIDS. She came to Chureca after her stepfather raped her and her mother chose not to believe her. Her only wish is to be reunited with her child whom she hasn't seen in six years before she dies. Dominga is turned down repeatedly by the powers that be until she is hospitalized with severe pneumonia and allowed to see her son for the first time in more than five years for fear that she may die.

There are also other subjects and the film is ongoing with a planned completion date of early 2013.

Nice and gritty facts of life for these people. We are looking forward to the finished product.
