Demonstration of printing without a raft on a MakerBot with heated build surface.

The gcode file for this print was created with help of the new 'Raftless' script as part of the Skeinforge tool chain.

  • @CenterLane1977 apparently, if the bottom layers are allowed to cool there will be a slight warping.

  • @jewamen I think you should buy another 3d printer for such details.. look at reprap prusa, ultimaker or so

  • How many ounces of material did you use to make that?

  • @CenterLane1977 Sometimes the plastic begins to cool which causes it to shrink and begin to curl. The heated platform keeps it from happening.
