  • What!? Why is the NAD not leading a public protest and offering legal advice to the parents regarding potential lawsuits.

NAD represents the interests of American Deaf population. It is the NAD's duty to actively work against the closing schools in NY in every way it can. That is a bogus claim that the NAD can do nothing and that it is up to the parents. Of course the NAD can and MUST act before it is too late! Freedom of speech is guaranteed by the US constitution.

  • Your video made me feel so engaging... Actually, I've been meaning to sign up for NAD membership! I better do it now. I'm with you all the way. Thank you thank you.

  • Thank you for explaining more clearly, detailed about what we can do!

  • One more thing, as an experienced vlogger, it is suggestive to put the link in the description box so that we can click with ease. Thanks for a great vlog! You rock!

  • Good to know about NAD's stand and you as a CEO focusing on this important topic of Deaf Education that has been targeted and impacted by the governor's budget. It is a much needed leadership for us to know how to be proactive rather than reactive. From my understanding, according to IDEA, it does state that a continuum of educational options is to be available; however, it doesn't mean that a state is obliged to keep more than ONE school for the Deaf open. What do you make out of that?

  • Howard-

As for your legal prong, I'm not quite sure about your claim that only parents can file suit. Sure, they're the ideal plaintiffs in any contemplated court action.

However, individuals and groups can also file suit as long as they allege constitutional issues? (i.e., 14th Amendment, Federal Preemption) Sure, there'll be standing issues, but I think they're not insurmountable.

Thank you for doing the vlog. We need more information like this disseminated in an accessible fashion.

  • Bravo! (impressive) Get to discuss this matter @ deafcube! (thanks!) Pls Keep Vloggin'
