The Community Players present "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying"
The Community Players open their 91st season with the hit Broadway musical, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. How to Succeed...follows the adventures of wily window washer J. Pierrepont Finch, who, with the aid of a trusty self-help book, aims to rise through the ranks of the World Wide Wicket Company from mail clerk to executive in record time.
Originally produced on Broadway in 1961, this timeless musical by Frank Loesser, with a book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert has won multiple Tony awards as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and a revival is currently running on Broadway to rave reviews.
The production is directed by Greg Geer, with choreography by Lennie Machado and musical direction by Ron Procopio.
Playing "The Voice of the Book" is local ABC 6 newscaster John DeLuca, who anchors news
weeknights at 5, 6 and 11 o'clock. A New England native, John has covered a wide range of
local and national news events, and was also featured in the 2007 Disney film Underdog, which was filmed in Rhode Island.
How to Succeed runs October 7-9, 14-16 and 21-23 at Jenks Auditorium, Division St., Pawtucket (across from McCoy Stadium), with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, and Sunday matinees at 2 pm.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students through high school.
