Elderly couple evicted

Evil Swedish construction company NCC forcefully evicts a severely ill elderly couple from their own home in Finland.

Moreover, the court required NCC only to pay insignificant compensation, so NCC effectively stole their property.

How can they do this, you ask. Because of Finnish law, which suggests "the good of the many outweighs the good of the few". However, I'd argue the Finnish implementation falls far short of the Vulcan one.

NCC did tear down the house to make room for a new apartment building. Is this really such "public good" that justifies what we see on the video? The couple was removed by police from the house in which they had lived since 1938!

The man complains of extremely high blood pressure and you can see and hear the alarms going off on his medical equipment, as the county official Eija Rosendahl and her hired goon invade their home. His wife is taken to the hospital and put into restraints!

And this happened because the new building HAD to be put to that very spot, while many vacant lots exist in the city of Espoo. Furthermore, the resulting building will not be a public service facility but privately owned apartments.

Protest the evil NCC bastards and email info@ncc.se to tell them what you think about their "morals". Also email om-tiedotus@om.fi and let the legislators know how you feel about the sucky country of Finland allowing this travesty.

Unfortunately the law with real estate in many countries is set up to protect the lenders/developers & landlords more than the tenants, home owners, and poor. Paid for or not it was their HOME - if they were 'trying to help' them, why did they just not move their home to another lot and allow them to keep their home they worked hard for since '38 forcing them to leave is not helping them - on top of them being ill & frail. This is a travesty!

Even if they did pay their bills. What makes you think that even the richest countries in the world WOULDNT put an old couple on the streets with nothing, then charge them to impound their property, clothes, food, etc. If the answer is, because the TV says so, get real.
