I think its because she was on relationship with this actor and it came out on the tabloids so she quited on Morning Musume and wanted to move on with her career as an adult. So i think this is her press conference about it.

Even though she was 'resigning' her juniors held a 'secret graduation ceremony' and told her 'Congratulations on your graduation', and 'We will always be your support', and she really felt loved and realized the members will still care about her. The way the members said 'graduation' instead of 'resigning' made her think of the members feelings at the time as well. She thinks that because of such bonds she was able to stand back up as a person and continue until now.

She talked about her scandal and how she thought she should tell the members herself, but instead the tv and magazines were all over it even before she told them, so when she did finally face them she couldn't say anything and all she could do was cry. And she thought she was a very horrible person for being a 'bad example' even though she was leader and she thought everyone hated her. But instead, the members threw her a graduation party, even though officially she was 'resigning'.

I think deep down she wanted to quit. The pressure on the leaders are 100 times more than the other members. And without Kameko(Kei-chan) and Yuuko there, it's just really hard... : | I love her no matter what. I remember seeing MM Videos for the first time and I said 'this girl is awesome!' I still think like that : )
