Sheer Beauty. So many years later, and this is still the standard to be judged by.

An amazing performance - one of those rare moments that humans reach of perfect artistry that flows and comes to a peak that is sublime. Great stuff.

Some people commenting are confusing ice dance (seen here) with pairs skating. In 1984 jumps, spins, lifts with the man's hands above his head, throws and separation of the couple for more than 5 seconds, were all illegal moves in ice dance. The emphasis was dance and foot work. Although the rules have now changed to include some elements, foot work remains central to ice dance. Jumps and throws are still illegal. Lifts still have tight restrictions and spins must take place in a dance hold.

Wow skating sure has changed over a minute into the program and they haven't done anything of any high degree of difficulty. Wonder how many skaters now a day would kill for a solid minute of interpretation.

Love the long clean lines and deep edges...hate watching it all today...tooo much footwork! Grew up skating and think they need to work on Figures and Edges. T&D a total class act!!!
