@farstuck I don't see how you can say that farstuck as Jane isn't exactly a great beauty phisically. She has quite muscular thighs so she has the figure of an athlete but not a clothes model. I don't think their looks had anything to do with their success as it was all talent.
Very nice, but replace them with me (over-weight and ugly) with both of them wearing orange and green suits — would we score 6.0? No, not even 5.0, because figure skating is a face-value sport. OK sorry for telling the truth
id luv 2 b able 2 skate like that thts my goal there like my role model so far im very high on grades ovi i dnt expect to get all 0.6 in an oympics but ya no
The 6's were for artistic impression. And that dance was all about artistic impression. The part you're referring to, technical merit, was scored just before the 6's and was mostly 5.9's (see the 8:32 long youtube video).
Maybe the poor video quality masks what 1984's only one-song routine did. It allowed them to lull us into a trance broken only by those final, brief fireworks. And we all marveled at that great experience that no other dance even tried.

thanks Shazza for reminding me of this one!
