how to fix jailbroken ipod touch that is nonresponsive!!!

how to fix unresponsive ipod touch 2gen...plug into usb while holding down home button until chime....download ipod firmware from http://mac.softpedia.com/get/iPhone-Applications/Tools-Utilities/iPhone-Firmw... ......
put the firmware on ur desktop.....open itunes...hold shift and click on restore...in the look in box choose desktop....choose the ipod firmware 2.2.1 and press open...nd ur ipod will be as good as new

ummm i download the 2.2.1 software but it wont pop up on my computer so it didnt work. this is what happen........................­.........i downloaded it. i hit shift when i got there.then it poped up so i went to that file but nothing was there i tried to download over and over again cuz it didnt work. =[ can you help me
