NATIONAL SKATING DERBY PHOTOS

These are photos of the world famous Thunderbird's who were the main stay of the Roller Games. The Thunderbird's were always a favorite at the Olympic Auditorium as they faced teams such as the Texas Outlaws, The Latin Liberadores, The Renegades, The Hawks and others. The National Skating Derby had many famous Stars such as Teri Lynch, Jim Terrigno, Sam Washington, John Johnson, Ralph Valladares, Sally Vega, Colleen Murrell, Julie Patrick, Ruberta Mitchell, Ronnie Rains and others. The Movie Kansas City Bomber featured many skaters such as Judy Arnold who doubled for Raquel Welch. Each of the Team members of the Roller Games are All Star Legends such as Judy Sowinski and Ms Tonette Kadrmas, Toni Tagg, Georgia Hass, Dave Pound, gee to many to list.

I do remember Shirley passed on to the Great Game in the sky, but I don't know about Dave Pound. Shirley Hardman and Dave pound were Awesome. Thanks for the comment.

I grew up watching the T-birds on TV. I never missed a game and as a kid I wanted to become a Thunderbird when I grew up. I loved them all. Ronnie "Psycho" Rains will never be matched. He was truly one of the greatest skaters of the roller derby era.

thank you for posting this awesome clip, i was a big fan in the early 70s, i wonder what happend to Dave Pound and Shirley Hardman? If you are familer with the T-Birds then you will know those names. thanks again for posting this!
