@kfr129 Just a little while before her execution though, she was quite changed. I suspect you read The Last Boleyn. Yes she suffered quite a temper, am I wrong? But she was very intelligent, so much that she played the king like chess. Of course, after much suffering after her becoming queen, she matured. And at that time you truly saw a noble woman. Damn Henry for his false accusations against her Grace.

@custardaghost I think people sometimes tend to forget and/or ignore the fact that these were actual people who actually suffered...it's not just another fancy scene in a movie..it's a real person's tragic death.

as much of a bitch as people think she was, Anne had the most personality out of any of Henry's queens and I wish she hadn't had to die in this way. She got screwed over by her father and her husband, and she paid for it with her life.

I think Anne definitely had some good traits, but she is no angel. The Boleyn's like most other noble families were schemers looking to advance themselves at others expense. I feel that Cardinal Wolsey was wrongly accused and persecuted, and Anne and her family had a lot to do with that as well. They all played a dangerous game, and in the end a lot of them got a dose of their own medicine.

I recall my mother telling me the stories of Anne and Katherine Howard - Anne's first cousin- when I was a wee girl. I am related to the Boleyns via the Stafford line. Anne was cultured and intelligent. She was also ambitious but although she coveted the crown she never forgave Wolsey for acting on Henry's orders and dissolving her engagement to Harry Percy. I do not believe she was adulterous and she was executed on spurious and trumped up evidence. But she died well and is buried next to Towe
