This is another LM386-based Little Gem derivative. This one has a 10u cap between 1 and 8 on the IC, and uses a 330u cap in place of the 220u cap to capture the low end of my mandolin and violin.

This time, I'm playing it through a tin can. I don't have the volume knob hooked up yet, and the audio input jack is just dangling there. But it sounds the way it's going to sound when it's fully assembled.

  • Easy. You put an amplifier circuit into it, strap a speaker to it, and an input jack for your instrument. It doesn't have to be in a can. It could be in anything.
