The 1960s intro version looks amazing for well the 60s. Could still easily be mistaken for 1970s or 80s as it is already although it was re-coloured in a darker hue for the 80s I think.

The 1980s Jetsons episodes used the exact same opening as it existed in 1962. To clarify, it may have been color-timed and developed differently in the film lab, but it wasn't repainted at all.

just on about at least 2 1960s episodes such as Rosie the Robot and a Date w/ Jet Screamer have the 1980s closing credits. Otherwise most of the closing credits for the 1960s Jetsons have been restored.

When I was little I would always crack up at the "Jane! Get me off this crazy thing"! part.

AFAIK, Jonny Quest was also in full color on network prime time. They showed clips of "Mystery of the Lizard Men" as such on their fall preview special.

In the 1962-'63 season, "THE FLINTSTONES" and "THE JETSONS" were the ONLY color series on ABC's schedule {and not every affiliate was equipped to carry color programing}. In 1963-'64, "THE FLINTSTONES", the 90 minute edition of "WAGON TRAIN", and Desilu's "THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH" (and "EMPIRE" repeats, in mid-season). ABC did not have the technical and financial resources to schedule more color prorgams until the 1965-'66 season [with about half of their prime-time schedule in color].

Not when Kellogg's was the primary sponsor of "DENNIS THE MENACE" [Best Foods, the "alternate"] on CBS, opposite "THE JETSONS" on Sundays at 7:30pm(et) in the 1962-'63 season. The fact was, the show had many "participating" sponsors {Dow's Saran Wrap, 3M's Scotch Tape, et. al.} during its prime-time run...

Great piece, but would have loved to see the old dancing sticks Screen Gems logo which normally followed H-B shows at the time.
