The show depicts the adventures of the Tracy family, which consists of millionaire former astronaut Jeff Tracy and his five sons: Scott (pilot of Thunderbird 1 and principal rescue co-ordinator), Virgil (pilot of Thunderbird 2), Alan (astronaut in Thunderbird 3), Gordon (aquanaut in Thunderbird 4) and John (principal duty astronaut on the space station Thunderbird 5) - each named after a Mercury astronaut - Scott Carpenter, Virgil Grissom, Alan Shepard, Gordon Cooper and John Glenn.

@huskvarsm I agree, it's a bit sad. Nobody really talks about Thunderbirds anymore. Instead, they talk about Facebook and Call Of Duty and what-have-you. I want to find Gerry Anderson so I can get him to broadcast Thunderbirds back on television again.

@Enigma2Me This episode does teach us a very important lesson; Always inspect the kitchen before ordering the "special"...it may not be so special, after all! (Just one look of that dirty nasty kitchen would ruin anyone's appetite!)

The "Special" features in the "headlines" of the introduction at 0:20! I was brought to this film by a massive real-life tragedy surrounded by stories similar to "going out for a dodgy curry the the night before" - but there were no real Thunderbirds to save the real people caught in this huge disaster allegedly caused by lack human unprofessionalism.

Gerry anderson and derek meddings need a pat on the back those models they made were every boys dream great attention to detail and great imagination i had the corgi die cast thunderbird 2 tbird 1 and 3 and captain scarlet spv and joe 90s vehicle thats back when kids played with real toys and played war with cap guns out in the fresh air instead of today on their arses joystick in hand getting square eyes its a bit sad really kids have traded pen knives catapults climbing trees and stickleback
