Sadly, we lost the great Buddy Charleton on January 25, 2011. His legacy will live forever.

I should certainly hope so. You are hearing it from the original player on this song.

Too bad he disappeared. His steel on "Say something nice to Sarah" is classic. Does anyone remember it?

Nobody could do it like Buddy Charelton. Suprisingly Bobby Caldwell got his part note for note just like Leon Rhodes. Brings back a lot of memories.

Before Buddy passed on (lung cancer) he was living in (or near) Orange, VA and teaching Steel at his close friend....Billy Coopers Music and Pedal Steel Store in Orange. A legend among
legends of The Greatest Steel players in the world.......in my humble opinion.

I totally agree with WillyJay3461...Buddy and Leon were the greatest combination of talent I ever heard. I know ET had many talented musicians in his band and each was great in his own right, but these two were off the hook!!! I grieve the loss of Buddy Charleton....it's almost like losing a family member. I always felt very close to certain members of the Troubadours band...they were like brothers...I knew them like a book. May Buddy RIP....he was awesome!
