@mujeebhunzai: And this Russian team is known to be the toughest in high altitude mountaineering and yet the expedition ended in tragedy with one death and utter failure. K2, still daring the world to summit it in winters.

A russian expedition is on way to summit k2 in winter 2011...this will be the first time summit..but it wont be easy for the guys to summit. My closest friends are serving this expedition. Best wishes guys

What an unbelievable sight k2 is.truly a natural wonder.anyone who ha successfully climbed k2 is a genuine mountaineering master and a hero.what a wonderful accomplishment for those gifted few...

Amazing feeling inside my soul, when I experience the distant K2 it´s a sensation of solitude, savage and a spiritual experience, Climbing mountains like 8000´ers is like having a religious experience. This is a challengue, a myth. Anyone who can get the summit is a hero.
I know that there is a Russian 2011-2012 expedition trying to reach the summit , no one have achieved that goal , I´ll pray for them because there are more expectations to die in the way or descending the mountain.

I as a humble climber (less t 4.000m) feel amazed towards the distant image of such beauty. K2 is so deadly as beautifull... As once a italian climber, its name echoes adventure, mistery, life and death. Fosco Maraini, said K2 is:"...just the bare bones of a name, all rock and ice and storm and abyss. It makes no attempt to sound human. It is atoms and stars. It has the nakedness of the world before the first man - or of the cindered planet after the last."
