After you drain the buttermilk, you should put the butter back in the processor, add ice water and continue processing, then drain. Repeat this until the ice water runs nearly clear. This will ensure you've removed as much of the buttermilk as possible. The acids in the buttermilk will make the butter spoil faster, so by rinsing them out with ice water, you'll get a butter that will last a little longer.

would this also work in a K-Tec blender as I don't own a food processor?

@burgundeejones Yes I think it would work! Maybe a cream or whip setting? I know people that normally make butter in a blender, so it should work out. Good luck!

bhaktajosh - I bet you could find an underground farm somewhere, or one that just sells shares to the animals, instead of just selling milk, but then because you own shares, you get milk!
