Winner of the International Critics' Prize at the Toronto Film Festival, Death of a President is conceived as a fictional TV documentary broadcast in 2008, reflecting on a monstrous and cataclysmic event: the assassination of President George W. Bush on October 19th, 2007. Too controversial for most U.S. movie theatres and television networks, this thought-provoking film is available on DVD April 3rd!

  • Have any of you watched the film at all?

It's not explicitly Anti-Bush. It was actually rather realistic and neutral. It's not praising or justifying the death or assassination of the President, it's not saying he deserved it. It's just a chilling and realistic film.

  • Ima repubican. I have always been for free speech. That is why me and the republican party is not going to complaining about this. But i have a message to liberals who dont find this controversial:

If this movie was EXACTLY the same just with Obama... would you think it should be banned? I know you commies love to silence people that don't agree with you.

  • This movie isnt anti bush, if anything it was pro bush, They portrayed him in this movie as a very kind man, a man who cared, he was a bad president thats for sure though

  • I have always voted Democratic and am well to their left, and I thought George the II was a scumbag AND I believe the makers of this exploitative movie should be ashamed. And, had this movie been made about Obama, leftwingers like me would have, rightfully, gone nuts.

  • November 4th, 1995: Yitzhak Rabin is assassinated.

The media and the public link the death with the incitement that went on against him, and supposedly remember that lesson. The nation (both right and left) mourn the death, and the right distances itself from the actions of one loon. Most people are disgusted. If Bush would be assassinated due to incitement like this snuffumentary, would the left reflect on its own behavior? Or would it celebrate like savages?

  • @crazedmongoose2003 It's also a REALLY GOOD movie!!! They did a GREAT job making it.

  • hmmm.... in theaters 10.27.06? I never heard anything about this. must've been a huge blockbuster. it's a great depiction of liberal protestors: angry, vicious, violent. besides, I thought there was a law against threatening the President's office? I wonder if the filmaker is a liberal?

  • It's certainly exploitative, and I can understand why the President is uncomfortable about the movie....my friend found this movie streaming at

  • lol im a communist, and no if they made a movie about Obama it shouldnt be banned, its a movie after all.

next time u bash communists get ur facts straight, we're not all staliin loving assholes.

  • Furthermore as a Liberal I'd have no problems with this film made about Obama, since it's actually more a credible threat given how many far right organizations want to kill Obama. It's not a critique of any sitting president, Obama or Bush, as much as it is a reflection on issues like domestic terrorism, homeland security and the culture war in America waged by fringe elements.

  • i don't think it would sit well if this was about Obama. my guess is the left would Shit!

anyone want to modify this trailer??

i am betting it would not sit well at all with then
