@gryphonkeen That's the purpose of the next (still unwritten) video. In my experience, many students don't have a clear mental plan in place for approaching a synthesis problem. The number one comment I hear is "I just don't know where to begin!" This "First Steps" video focuses just on starting the problem and the kinds of questions you should yourself before constructed a retrosynthesis.
