Kristina Reardon is a 2010-11 Fulbright Student from the United States being hosted in Slovenia by the Department of Translation at the University of Ljubljana. Ms. Reardon holds a BA in English/Spanish Literature from Providence College in Rhode Island and a MFA in Writing from the University of New Hampshire. Ms. Reardon is of Slovenian descent and during her nine month stay she is translating short stories written by Slovenian women in the past 20 years into English.

The Fulbright Program was established in 1946 and is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State. Approximately 294,000 "Fulbrighters," 111,000 from the United States and 183,000 from other countries, have participated in the Program since its inception more than sixty years ago. The Fulbright Program awards approximately 7,500 new grants annually, and operates in over 155 countries worldwide. It is the U.S. Government's most prestigious program for academic exchange.
