So true... so very true

Well you can't help ignorant people. ^.^ I would suggest just ignoring them as they have no interest in being truly right, but rather in believing they are right. Unfortunately that is how most of the world is.

@Durakken I agree that if you don't understand the basics and read a lot of books, you can read them wrong. That's why I often confirm my understanding with experts.

@Durakken Common sense is the enemy of knowledge. I didn't say I only have read books. I've taken classes. I've also talked with professors, etc. It's true that reading does not mean comprehension. I think I made clear in the video that I don't always comprehend what I read. That's why I ask people who know more than I do. But none of this is relevant to the vid. The vid is referring to people who criticize me for doing NO homework and while they themselves have never done any homework.

@Durakken which of has a better understand, common sense say*
typo ^.^
also if you don't understand the basics and read those 1000 books you've probably read them wrong and you've done a lot of damage to yourself rather than helped the situation and bolstered your confidence which means you are less likely to change your mind on the subject even if you are wrong

The importance of anything that you take from authority is the understanding of the subject. One can never be certain they understand something unless they ask an authority on that subject so just saying you've read what the authority said doesnt mean anything
And whether you read 1000 books and I read 1 is not important. What is important is which one of us has a better common sense says you do but common sense is flawed and a misunderstanding in basics points to the inverse
Maybe you should do your homework you walrus.

Recently, I've been getting this 2nd law BS from mejc2 on my laryngeal nerve video. After some back and forth for a couple of weeks where I explained several times in detail how he was wrong, he stopped responding on the topic and switched to several different ones. Before that, he still wouldn't admit defeat, and kept repeating easily debunked claims that often weren't even relevant to the 2nd law (such as claiming complexity cannot arise locally and that "code" is different that hurricanes).

@EvoBiologist He's a particularly egregious example of this phenomenon. It would be a huge step forward if they would just admit they don't know what they're talking about.
