i have to agree with them both. whether they are defined as wtvr to wtvr, who cares. the hard fact is evolution and creationism are the 2 most dominating arguments for the origans of life, man, and the universe so allow them to be taught side by side. Explain none is more true than the other and that neither is 100%. explain that

palenty is a waste of space. he hasn't done a single thing to improve Minnesota. his office is just a means for him to run for a higher office.

Is it really any wonder why the US ranks so far behind other countries in math and science? No.

(contd.)
And in fact, we HAVE observed cases of speciation (a lineage of organisms that begins with one species, and ends with a different one). Just google "observed cases of speciation." You'll find plenty. This is not news.

Yeah, that's because evolution doesn't work that way. Evolution is governed by small, random variations, natural selection, and time. Every organism reproduces with variation, and over time, the ones with beneficial variations will survive to reproduce, while the ones with detrimental variations will die off. The whole process of something "turning into" something else can take many generations, depending on how well-suited the organisms are to their environments initially.

Unlike all other theories you listed, evolution requires a substantial amount of faith. Nothing in human history has produced anything other than It's own kind. Your comparison of the theory of evolution to the other theories is like comparing apples to oranges. You just can't do that.

I never understood why people feel the need to attack people through their spelling on sites like youtube. frankly, grammer isnt at the top of my list of concerns when i am commenting on youtube.

You make a good point, until you tell us to get out and enjoy the day god made for us. Maybe it would be good to get outdoors though.
If there is a tornado going on right now that is destroying the neighborhood, does that mean god made the tornado just for me? He is a pretty big dick if he did.

I agree with Pawlenty. If there are "competing credible theories" on the orgin of life they should be taught side by side with evolution.
However, there are no competing theories with evolution. creationism is not science, I wonder how many scientists have been lost over the years because of religion? its quite sad:(
Evolution is a theory (in the scientific sense of the word). ID is not. The Supreme Court ruled that creationism and ID is not scientific and (so far) has had no scientific data supporting it. That is why it should not be taught. If it ever becomes a credible scientific theory with peer-reviewed articles, experiments etc then there's no reason why it can't be taught.

Evolution is a theory in scientific terminology, not in the traditional lay-man's understanding of the word. Evolution is a theory in the same way the cell theory, or the theory of gravity, or the germ theory are theories. Hell, music theory is just a theory!
Evolution will always bear the label "theory" because that's simply how science works. That said, it is very possible (and common) in the scientific field for something to be considered a fact and a theory at the same time.
