Burning Garbage in Gurgaon

public solid waste and its disposal is the responsibilty of the municipalities. in gurgaon the municipal sweepers as well as sweepers of sulabh international, agency which has got a contract from municipal corporation gurgaon to clean large parts of gurgaon city, freely burn garbage.

while the municipal corporation issues empty threats to prevent garbage burning it is common knowledge that the supervisors look the other way when the sweepers burn garbage citing various reasons for burning.

in this video one municipal sweeper cleaning railway road gurgaon is seen burning garbage.

unfortunately the citizens also turn a blind eye to this practice of burning and don't realize what a health hazzard this is besides no conforming to the municipal solid waste management act 2000.

yeah you r right.i blame it on the rural n archaic mindset where in ancient times in the absence of municipal services all garbage had only one way of disposal n that was by burning it. also laws r there against burning garbage but in absence of implementation they remain on paper.
