Despite being a paradise of the South Pacific, the Solomon Islands have been in a state of civil unrest for some time. In an effort to restore law and order, strengthen government institutions, reduce corruption, and re-invigorate the economy, 15 nations from within the region banded together in 2003 to help the Solomon Islands Government.

Australia has been a permanent cornerstone of that effort, providing military, police, and civilian personnel to the cause. They all do an outstanding job and are occasionally rewarded in some small way by visiting Australian performers brought together by Forces Entertainment.

In February 2009 the Tour de Force was deployed featuring singer-songwriter Mark Wilkinson, rock band Asleep In The Park, comedian Dave Jory, and MC Renee Brack.

Here is a small slide show of that week...

  • That was a great show you did at Maratime, great video to!

  • My favourite song of all time. The most heart warming and soul touching piece I have ever been blessed to hear. I can't wait to come and see you on the 23rd of June for my 30th. Will be the best birthday ever. Suz was right when she said how fantastic you are. Keep writing from the heart. You will forever have my undying support...

  • I miss the old Solomon.

The song and the pics of home just made me very sad.

The old Solomon as it was before has been lost.

Solomon will never be the same.
