@2:08 Aurélie says: "When I was première danseuse (first soloist) I had the right to dance an étoile part for one night, one performance; so I had 2 months of rehearsals but I danced only once. Obviously, in these performances the director is not always the same, so I knew it was important and it all added pressure on me. I said to myself 'they are giving this chance to me, it's not much and if I fail is not that horrible, but it would be a pity if I did' "

direct translation: (continues)
"lean on me, you may go on pointe, turn your heel out, strech, as far as you can with your arm, as your feet"
(male dancer speaks)
"This will be hard, (holding her foot) go back against me, and hold. (explaining) "this works for feeling the perfect academic movement, that is it, the ideal movement, forced by someone, but feeling it for an instant, and later educating the muscles tu achieve this feeling of movement at last"
hope it works for you!!!

direct translation:
"Lean on me, you need to feel this part (touching her feet), give me your arm,(lifting her leg) and you struggle to accomplish a perfect position for the hip, I lift it and you musn't forget about your foot, straight back, against me, lean on me, now, without loosing the support, (moving her leg), hips over the foot, hold the position as i move your leg straight from the hip, keep your ribbs forward, keep the line, (lifts the leg in the back) ..."

Other than the annoying voice overs (subtitles are our friends), I thank you for posting this exquisite documentary! Really beautiful and inspiring!

@LVdancerbabe I know this was a looong time ago that you asked, but what's happening is that since the teacher is moving Thesmar's leg, instead of Thesmar focusing on using her muscles (hip flexors) to actively move her leg, she is using them to resist the teacher and to concentrate (specifically in this moment) on the correct position of the hip and supporting leg at all times. This is like isometric stretching which will increase flexibility and strenght.

Here it is, please forgive me for any grammar errors, but I think this can help you to understand her and what she's saying.
[3.00, when the teacher grabs her arm:]
Give me your arm and you fight for keeping a perfect position of the hip, I lift your leg up and you never forget yout foot. Back high, and against me, you lean against me, yes like that, that's right. Now I'm going to force the position without loosing the support (of the leg that is still in the floor) the hip on top of the foot,

Okay, I'm not really good with english but I can try to make an accurrate translation of what she says.
-
Yes about where it starts at 3:00. That would be great.
-
what exercise do you mean? The one with the rond de jambe l'air? If you want I can try to translate what's the teacher saying to you.
does anyone know from which ballet comes the first rehearsal of this video? It's mozart's piano concert, my favourite one....
