Yosemite National Park, CA

Video 2 of 2 (recycling)

Filmed July 2011

This company is a division of North Bay Corp., and the National Park Service has them contracted to collect and handle recycling (as well as material from a new food waste/organics program) within the National Park. I filmed a New-Way Mammoth from this company, and later a Wittke FL with OTC "straight arms" on a WX64 from the '90s. Knowing how Wittke FLs are, I somehow enjoyed seeing the older one I saw more than anything else.
Off camera, I also saw a ribbed body Pak-Mor on WX64 from Total Waste Systems, which I'm convinced was purchased from the US Government and used previously in the Park itself for trash.

Wanted to say thank you to the awesome driver of the Wittke who I talked with plenty; certainly enjoyed hearing and agreed with all his opinions about politics..........lol

Be sure to watch the video of the garbage if not already: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yw2sUHaXlzw

  • again this didnt show in sub list. What do they do with the empty propane canisters?

  • @3amrepmike3 There's some other truck that collects them (pickup or whatever). He told me the national park service spent $3000 on some machine that sucks the last propane out of those and somehow uses it to power a forklift they have..

  • Amazing video! I couldn't find anything about this on North Bay's website or anywhere else online.Does Total Waste Systems have a website? And does North Bay own anything else like this? That wittke FL seems rare,I don't think I've ever seen one with arms like that.,By the way,how do you put a caption on a black background like that with Windows Live Movie Editor?

  • @RecologySMCKid Yeah Total Waste has no website. I have no clue about any other companies they are a parent company to. This arm design was from the 90s, so that's why you wouldn't have seen / remembered trucks with them. lol

    I wouldn't know, since I don't use that software.....

see all
