  • It would be infinitely easier to just use a bowl.

  • @OoThis1oO That's generally what I do anymore but even with a bowl you run into issues. It doesn't always fit right into a bowl, if the bowl is too big the soap slides around until it eventually glues itself into the bottom and if it's too small you end up having to shave the sides of the soap. This is just kind of a way to fit it into any container without waiting or worrying about any kind of mishaps with melting etc. Some people also use this to combine soaps.

  • Hi, Just to ask can i do the same thing for a shaving stick?

  • @FlammingFart

I wouldn't see why not, though depending upon what exactly you are trying to do you may need a few more "tools". Are you trying to turn a soap puck into a shaving stick or vice versa?

  • Good idea, I watched this, but then just said, 'screw it' and pulled out the food processor. It works great actually, just freeze cut the soap on 4ths or 8ths like you did and give it a few pulses. It turns out like dry cottage cheese, but it's fast, and works great and mashes into the bowl nicely. :)

  • @EmantheBassist Thanks, I thought about that too, but I'm too lazy to clean out the mess I would have made in the food processor...I just have a dedicated grater for soap :D

  • @drumgodXIII I leave the soap in whatever container it came in. I'm assuming you use soap that comes boxed and wrapped. Just keep an old container for a soap you've already used. I wet my brush, give it a few spins on the surface of the soap, then lather it in a warm empty bowl sitting in warm water.

  • Hey thanks, I shall be using this in the very near future :) .

  • Very good video. Do you use your grater for both grating soap and cheese or is it dedicated? I guess I am asking if I should pick up 2.

  • Thx for the tip. I just bought a shavingsoap mug and soon the shaving soap from ebay, I'm probably gonna use your method. Thx again :)
