Like numerous other players, Serbia's Ana Ivanovic has had to overcome hardships, growing up in war-torn Serbia. Growing up in war-torn Belgrade made tennis practice difficult but it didn't deter her from striving to be the best.

@ytorrejone who talked about which country bombed more or less? Nobody has questioned the innosence of Serbia but you just had to bring it up didnt you? The fact is that Serbia has been bombarded and there was a lot of damage and the innocent population had to suffer. hats off two times to this lady that she managed under severe conditions in her country to get successful.

@SaintPierrer she's done nothing to mar her character, I just find people to be on the cusp of insanity by the way they worship not only her but other women players and fixate them on this pedestal.. it's really weird to me and embarrassing for them.

@itsjonkuo well, it's quite obvious Ana is a very positive person. as far as I know she's UNICEF ambassador of good will, she participated in many charity events, she's always kind and nice...

It's so funny how humanity falls in love with people and calls them things like "diamonds" and "angels" just because of the way they look. You know nothing about Ana.. yet just fall in love with her just because she's pretty.
