@KodyBoy555 This is no coincidence. The synth chip in the Genesis was also a Yamaha-designed FM synthesizer! :) Good ear!

@SuaveGanimedes OWNED !!!!!!

I bought a mint one for $150 in a pawn shop, they thought it didn't work because the presets names were all scrambled and they sounded terrible (if at all), I just replaced the battery and loaded some patches, works like new now.

@wrabit79 Bought mine for 350€, so... you just have to dig a little.

This sounds so sexy!

chick corea :)

Out of curiosity, can you post settings for this sound? I have an SY77, but my FM E. Piano sound is off. Mine has an annoying extra major 3rd tone in the lower octaves.

@KodyBoy555 Understandable. The Genesis uses a Yamaha-built FM synthesizer chip for its sound.
FAKE !!!! the control of volume is turned down.

@SuaveGanimedes Well, sort of, but not exactly. This DX7 is MIDI'ed to TX7 module, which is basically the same thing as the DX7. So, it's more real than a soft synth :)

Nice !
and may I ask you something? how can I use my DX7 as a master midi keyboard? I tried to connect it to my mac but the midi date seems doesn't send. How can I set up? thank you so much!

@minimoogeryanlo If you have the old DX7 (mk1) I don't recommend to use it as a master keyboard, because it sends only velocity data from 0 to 100. DX7II is better with its 0-127 range. Nonetheless, you need to connect your MIDI out of your DX7 to MIDI in of your Mac MIDI interface, and set the same MIDI channel on both the DX7 and your Mac. (There are 16 MIDI channels, and they have to be the same on both devices to communicate).
