This instrumental piece is an exploration of the sound flexibility of the Spektrumsynth, an instrument that I built using Reaktor software, with the wave-table section by James Walker Hall and Timothy Lamb. See the Spektrumsynth video and Spektrumsynth Tutorial video for a more detailed description of the instrument. I have made a couple of modifications since the making of these original videos. If you look closely you'll see that the LFOs are packed into a pull-down menu (Stacked Macro), saving on display space by only showing one at a time, although they are all functioning simultaneously. I was able to add some modules that were available on the earlier version, but hidden on the "B" display pane. I hope that you like the music.

  • Just great! Saw this on matrixsynth, you are a great composer/player! I like the feel of Neverending story mixed with amiga game music, i could listen to this stuff all day!

What are your musical influences? any artists in particular?

  • I come from the progressive rock era, from Beatles, Procol Harum, King Crimson, original line-up Genesis, Yes, Gentle Giant, ELP, Dixie Dregs, Chick Corea, John McGlaughlin, with a little avante-garde spice from Stockhausen, Xenakis, Parmegiani, Francis Dhomont, Tangerine Dream and Dream Theater. Thanks for the nice comment!

    Cheers,

    Don

  • You are such a wizard!! I love this so damn much. Me and my friends have been chewing on this marvel of music for a few days. For us, it's all about the ride. What a nice progressive feel! It's almost like those games back in the day when Amiga was king, and creativity was god ;D

  • Fantastic work! This does indeed sound very demoscenish.
