I am a fire fighter.. And that's not a backdraft.. That is called flashover.. It's when the smoke gets so hot it burns... Soon as they stopped the water it rapidly gained heat thus igniting the smoke and flashover

I'm not positive it's a backdraft or a flashover. If they were flowing water on the fire, there was obviously an opening, thus not starving the fire of oxygen. Considering that the narrator said it was a plastic factory, I'd say it was a good old fashioned explosion of the contents of the factory... Just my couple years of the job experience

This is not a flashover, this is a textbook backdraft! A flashover is not that explosive! And i am a firefighter to.

Thanks for the info. For an un educated armchair fireman like myself that does look like a backdraft. I didn't realise that a flashover could be that violent but what you've said makes makes perfect sense. There was a lot of "un burnt" smoke there.

because in peru some fire fighter stations didnt teach their people how important is to use de scba in peru it is called EPRA equipo personal de respiracion autonoma . im a fire fighter in peru too and in my compañy this is a punishment

As you can see, where the explosion originates is not yet involved in fire, as the building is a plastics factory and clearly not deprived of oxygen I would say that penomenon is a smoke gas explosion and not a backdraft or a flashover
