For me a genuine calabash, with a white meerschaum bowl insert and a gourd body, is very light and easy to smoke because of its S-shape.

But the briar calabash with a horn insert at the shank is heaviest but most beautiful and elegant. With a better flavor.

briar is the king of pipes indeed mate,,but there is a smthing unique added to the fact of clabash and big hallow gourd and thts wt mks it one of my favourite shapes but prefrences btn smoker diffre in taste as well,,thanks for watching

Hi Ahmed, I have a Butz Choquin briar calabash shaped pipe. It is new and I am still breaking it in, however it smokes pretty well. The tobacco chamber is very deep, but narrow in diameter following the shape of the outside of the bowl. It is short enough, and light enough to hold in the mouth for short periods of time, but definately is not a walking pipe. The shape is pleasing to the eye, and feels good in the hand. hello mate,,thanks alot for te nice complements,,calabash is a fancy unique shape tht due to its large surface area smokes very cool and have a sweet texture bowl which is preferable cuz it creat the air pocket due to the narrow base of te clonical sape of bowl especially if u dnt force the tobacco in,,indeed after breaking it bcz cake hv to cover all thhe bowl after all,,thanks for watching
