Some representatives of groups of Canadians that make up the rich diversity of this country: Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Filipino, and European issued an open letter to extend their warm welcome to the Japanese Emperor and Empresss visit to Canada. At the same time, they appeal to the Emperor for his continued efforts to bring healing and justice to the victims of atrocities (including the Canadian HK Veterans) committed by Japan before and during the Asia-Pacific War, and for his support of the endeavours to keep Article 9 intact in the spirit of peace.

please don't deny your past government's crimes! —— Japan is supposed to be a democratic country with freedom of speach - Nevertheless the Japanese government CENSOR contents of history textbooks!

Japan should also apologize to american and british soldiers who underwent torture in japanese pow camps.
I can only hope it changes for good.
