The USA women's basketball team will be going for a fourth consecutive olympic gold medal at this summer's beijing games.
Since women's basketball was first introduced at the 1976 olympics, the americans have collected a record five gold medals, one silver and one bronze medal.
Team usa is led by four time olympian lisa leslie.
Leslie is returning to competition after taking a year off from basketball to have a baby.
She is the oldest member of the american team and is looked up to by the other players.
Leslie takes her responsibility as team leader seriously.
She says, "i feel blessed to be young enough to play in another olympics and yet old enough to be the leader of so many great players."
Joining leslie on the american squad is another strong inside player, sylvia fowles.
Fowles was the leading scorer among all teams in the good luck beijing tournament, averaging 17 points per game.

Fowles says her basketball idol is lisa leslie and she is honored to get to play alongside leslie during the bejing olympics.
Another spark for team usa is the play of katie smith. As the gold medal favorite, the american team is loaded with star players who are known as big scorers.
