Man Hides Drugs In Mouth, Cop Breaks His Neck

A 42-year-old Louisiana man has died, apparently of a broken neck, after being pulled over by a police deputy.

A dash cam video shows Deputy Chris Sturdivant of the Livingston Parish Sheriffs Office with his arms around Adam Stogners neck after the officer suspected the man of putting a small quantity of drugs into his mouth.

Stogner died along Interstate 12. Preliminary results from the coroner show that Stogner died from severe coronary artery disease, an enlarged heart, and a fracture of the hyoid bone in his neck.

According to CBS affiliate WAFB, the sheriffs office says Stogner did not put his truck in park when he was pulled over. This may have led the officer to believe Stogner was planning to flee the scene. And the deputy believed Stogner was impaired.

Crimes without victims, IE. drug offenses are wasting our tax money and can result in situations like this. I understand protecting children from drug dealers and the general public when a vehicle is involved or the individual is out of control, but when one is an adult, if one wants to kill themselves with drugs and alcohol don't waste my money trying to stop them. Drug users will continue to do what they do, I think it just a way for the government, to control people and make money.

first and foremost. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A ROUTINE TRAFFIC STOP. when an officer of the law thinks that a stop is routine that is when he/she is in danger of being taken by surprise. Also, who is to say the suspects neck wasn't broken prior to this event. people have had major neck injuries for months even years before knowing about it. Bottom Line here is, what if you were the officer and the suspect was visibly under the influence of meth?? If you don't like american cops. LEAVE
