http://www.malekkoheavyindustry.com The reverbs from Malekko compared side by side. Original recipe Spring Chicken versus the new and improved extra crispy Chiclet of the Omnicron series. Difference? Yep...you gotta decide that for yourself. I used my http://www.kingbeeguitars.com relic tele from King Bee Guitars and the mighty fine Audio Kitchen Lil Chopper amplifier, available from http://www.boutiquetronics.com

  • can you please explain why you don't like reverb?

  • @newclearwaste Really just a joke to get folks rowdy...I used Marshalls for about 15 years straight, and just got used to never having reverb. I really have nothing against it...I just like the way saying REVERB SUCKS rolls off the toungue.

    ROCK ON!

  • I would say that the spring chicken is a little better, it really sounds like authentic spring verb. The chicklet is a little less realistic sounding to my ears, but still a very nice reverb none the less. They are both similar but they have their own flavour.

  • Nothing better than Spring Chicken and Waffles.

  • Just for CHICKS 'N' GIGGLES haha

  • haha, press 1 to hear GMD's opinion on reverb... :D

  • FUCK DOES THIS GUY SOUND LIKE JACK BLACK OR WHAT?

  • @gearmanndude No man, you have chosen the side and you better damn stick with it!

Tomorrow we march, against the reverb!

  • oh so smooth...........like baby child.

  • @gearmanndude classique

  • SPRING CHICKEN - reverb sounds more wet and seemes to react faster

CHICKLET - reverb sounds a little more thin but more transparent, reverb also seems to kick in a split second later

***as always, it depends on what other gear you're using, how all of your gear complements/works against each other, what sound you're looking for, how it feels, and what you're willing to pay***

  • @PapaKenny777 I have 'em both and I think that the main difference is the Chicklet has more of a mid-rangey character to it. I really didn't like it at first, but if you compare it to an actual spring reverb, it's pretty damned close. The Spring Chicken (FYI- Malekko will apparently mod these units for $35 to include a dwell control which makes the pedal MUCH cooler) has a warmer, bassier vibe to it. Both are great, easily my favorite reverb pedals on the market!

  • Save yourself a few bob and get the Electro-Harmonix Stereo Memory Person. You can get verbs and lovely FX from the one box.
