Why do people around the world cut the tails off from their riesen?
Cruel, cruel. It´s a cruelty. My riesen do have his tail and he is so cut and happy.

awww they have there tails :) <3 mine don't and i feel so bad that they go taken away from them :( personally i think the look SO much better with there tails :)

@johnmacisaac I honestly prefer a docked tail because my giants are in the house and dont knock so many things off and over with their non stop wagging lol they look beautiful either way tho :)

I breed giant schnauzers and I am having trouble selling them because nobody likes the long tails.Damed if you do Damed if you don't

@sofiabrasil I prefer them with docked tail, but I have had Giants with floppy ears and long tail that were awesome dogs. The reason people dock tails was because of their working dog status and cutting them made the dogs safer around machinery. Now it is more tradition, but I assure you the dogs could care less assuming it was done by a vet.
My giants are rescues so I take what I get. If you want to be outraged, be outraged that people buy dogs and then fail to do even basic training.

@929MIKE First of all, you don't have to tell me what to be outraged at.
I did not know that about machinery, and it makes much more sense now. But in the case of tradition (which seems to be most of the cases nowadays) I just think it's useless, a waste of money, and transfering peoples's vanity to a dog, although I know dogs couldn't care less. As a dog owner nowadays, I wouldn't support it.
