  • you say "put the teflon tape opposite the way you're spinning" then you actually put it on in the same direction and say "it's going in the direction with the tape" (with the threds, which is the right way ) but when you hold the male connections in your hand you put the tape on in the wrong direction 2 times(opposite threds). don't want to nit-pick but you are stressing in the begining how wrong it is...

  • Do as I say...not as I do. Hehe. Thanks for noticing.

  • the whole nipple mmmm......

  • Got wind?

  • damn atthe end here my man sounded pumped LoL looks good thanks for the tips

  • But in my experience where non-tapered fittings are used it is best to use Hemp/Flax along with boss-white/uni-white.

  • I would just like to point out that Polytetrafloroethelene (PTFE) tape, is also used in plumbing situations as a material that not just lubricates but also seals fittings, in this case tapered fittings are used (which in theory are self sealing) so the PTFE acts as a lubricant to reduce friction at the mating surfaces making it possible to get a good tight joint. In cases though where non-tapered fittings are used Ie. brass fittings, PTFE can be used to 'seal' the joint.

  • WOW, this guy said teflon tape is to lubricate the threads so you can get the fittings tight. That is exactly what it is for. So many people think it is to seal the fitting but that is not correct. The tape helps you get the fittings tighter so they can seal them self. But when he used the teflon tape to build up the diameter or the hole fitting I cringed. I personally don't think that is a "long term" fit.

  • I have the same filter, where did you get the PVC and what parts are you using. I had to make a bunch of junk to use it.

  • I recently bought a pump that has a 1 1/2 inch opening I have a 2 inch hose. What plumbing parts do I need to connect them? Please help thanks.

  • Yeah...unless you put liner underneath it - which is always recommended
