My birds are on a screaming kick. The Grey screams like the Tiels and the Tiels scream like themselves. The Macaw doesn't scream, she YELLS. Anyway, just a small footage of it. www.thingsforwings.ca
Mine does this too at the worst possible times. Like, right before I go to bed or at 4:00am. He does this weird jingle that I have no clue where he got it from. It goes like: Duh, du dut, duh duh. :|
The screaming is actually normal, my cockatiel hens do the same; it's a 'calling' response, i.e. you've gone out the room and your birds are calling you to find out where you are. They are assuming that you will say something (even if it's a whistle or 'shut up!') to let them know where you are. One of my hens does this whenever I leave the room and she doesn't quieten until either I'm gone for some time and she can't hear me moving around, or else I come back and she settles again.
is it me or is it funny the way a cockatiel screams
