Yes, that's called pareidolia(Pattern recognition) It's the reason we see shapes in clouds and faces in wood grain. There is also an auditory form of it that makes people hear voices in random noises and sounds. As I often point out in lectures, just because we might interpret a shape or a sound differently, it does not mean that there is not something there. Like mishearing a conversation or when a distant object changes as we get closer to it. It's still tangeable though misinterpreted.
We have on occasion's used the audio in a feedback as well. Setting the volume just below the area where the screetch would occur trying to get EVP's. In our surround sound speaker system we have heard faint subtle music coming out.
Instrumental Transcommunication is using any piece of technology to communicate with the dead. In this example, a camera's AV jacks are plugged into a monitor with the camera aimed towards it. This creates a visual feedback loop. If the camera is mounted on a tripod while filming, the feedback loop will remain constant. However, sometimes odd things will appear that don't match the loop. Faces, names, severed limbs and even geographic locations have been recorded. Most last less than 3 frames.
As a amatuer paranormal resercher, I should piont out that most ITC's are just patterns found by the human eye. People often recognise patterns in such things as fog, static, etc. This causes people to jump to conclusions. ( I do, however, believe in ghosts.)
