This is a service where you can send in your receipts in a postage paid envelope that they provide you with and they will scan and keep them for you. These scans are accepted by the IRS in an audit. The service will e-mail you when they receive your receipts and they will also e-mail you once they are scanned. At that time you can log into your account online and see what you've got. Shoeboxed.com will organize what they can for you and for the rest you can go in and organize them as to spending category and anything else.
Now that you have your receipts organized and tracked you have some additional options;
1. Leave them there and refer back to them when you need.
2. Export them to:
a. QuickBooks
b. Quicken
c. Evernote
d. MS Excel
e. PDF Formatted
f. MYOB
g. Xero
h. Frehsbooks
Shoeboxed is rich with other features too! You can send in business cards from your networking events and they will organize them into a nice CSV which you can download and then easily import into your MS Outlook, Google Contacts, or whatever you use.
@nofussacctng They are working on a better format for the QuickBooks import. For now you have to edit the journal entries that come in or book a new one re-classifying the amounts. To be honest my favorite part of this is the evernote export. The PDFs are completely searchable making it really easy to find anything you are looking for.

Great Video. Thanks for the detailed instructions for the quickbooks import. I guess my main concern or issue with this service, is that business owners will be scanning all receipts, not just cash receipts so how does the import differentiate which credit account to use. Also the time involved with still going into each transaction, and then coding it to the correct accounts, as well as follow up clean up of the other name lists, seems to time consuming for most depending on the quantity.
