  • The Confederacy was cut off from its European markets for indigo, tobacco & cotton. When the South capitulated in 1865 {General Lee later publicly regretted the surrender} federalism was sacrificed for centralism and The United States ceased to be a democratic Republic.

  • The abomination of chattel slavery remains the natural state of Man. It's of our past, present & future. It's the stuff of legend, sci-fi novels & warfare. Negro slavery in the 18th century entailed a reciprocal relationship between white slavers & African Negro chieftains/kinglets. Those who were sold into bondage and dispatched to America were prisoners & slaves of their native lands. The practice of reducing humans to animal-status is evident in 21st century American pop culture.

  • @ParadiseOnLand Nowhere close to Adolf...that is a little drastic.

  • @SammiC0306 He's our boy: Adolf Lincoln!

  • "...I have no purpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with the institution of slavery in the States where it exists. I believe I have no lawful right to do so, and I have no inclination to do so.I have no purpose to introduce political and social equality between the white and the black races. There is a physical difference between the two, which, in my judgment, will probably forever forbid their living together upon the footing of perfect equality..."

  • Lincoln and I have the same birthday (February 12th)

  • Lee regretted having fought against the USA entirely. He regretted ever having taken a military education. He deliberately stayed out of step while walking in processions. He expressed admiration for his former enemies. Reference Ken Burns' "Civil War" documentary.

  • Id have to agree with that.

  • Lincoln on Slavery:

"I have no purpose, directly or indirectly to interfere with the institution of slavery."

    --- March 14, 1861

"What I would most desire would be the separation of the white and black races."

--- 7-17-1858, fr. a speech delivered in Springfield, Ill.

"I am not in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, or of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people."

    --- September 15, 1858

  • whether the Civil War was fought over slavery or state rights, it was a completely unnecessary war that should have instead been solved in a far more civilized manner

  • hellOnLand is youTube's shitler
