when i go to mexico to visit relatives people will accidentaly fish these and since there concidered a pest or a plage for the way the look there killed on the spot .

Yep! It was close to -20 degrees Celcius so ice was quickly forming on the water's surface. These salamanders breed, feed, etc. under the ice.

As the description says, this video was shot during 'ongoing mudpuppy research'. These are wild animals from a population that is being censused. Animals are captured and released within the span of approx. 30 seconds.
