Cindy Hill is producing the opening event at Ingenuity 09. As an educator and percussionist, Hill has studied African and Afro-Latin drumming traditions since 1996. She founded Rhythm Culture in 1999 after training with internationally renowned teacher, Arthur Hull of Village Music Circles.
Rhythm Culture provides hands-on interactive drumming experiences for schools organizations and community groups.
The opening event will feature Marcus Santos who will open IngenuityFest 2009 with this sizzling event about the world history of percussion, featuring hundreds of drummers playing instruments from many cultures. Along with native Cleveland stars including Jamey Haddad of Paul Simon's band and Carlos Jones of the P.L.U.S. Band, an army of local percussion artists will help Santos explore the evolution of drumming from prehistoric times to the cutting-edge of the current electronic age.
Hey Cindy, great job on the Big Bang!
I thought it went very well. Thanks for inviting me to be a part of it - it was magic!
