@literaturenbeauty He was "God-like" in his Hawaii Special. I was told he hit 5 octaves singing: "What Now My Love". Anyone trying to say he was anything less sounds like jealousy to me!!! Your children's children will be watching this because it was such majestic event.

technicalities are bullshit elvis is perfection because he marrys up his vocals with his spirit and its an unmatchable combination all that history stardom from 50's to this time wrapped up in a fitness obsessed comeback to prove to the world he still had it. like the musical version of rocky. this individual should not be overlooked for his influence on culture he is more than a star more a phenomenon as has been stated by many. i feel theyre on the right track.

@matizzle32 I certainly didn't want to take anything away from Elvis. I am an EXTREMELY devoted fan. Perhaps the reason I enjoyed the rehearsal so much was that he appeared to be having such a good time teasing the audience. I so want to think that Elvis had some really good times. And it looked like he was having a good time!! I watched every second of that concert when it aired and thought it was fabulous.

No way was the rehearsal show better than the live one. NOTHING beats his live performance. The mere nature of the show completely overpowers anything he did before and after. Sure, he was more relaxed during the rehearsal, but that's because it was a rehearsal! All of a sudden, 1.5 billion people are watching you...who wouldn't be feel a bit timid? Nonetheless, being the master he was, he conquered the fear and delivered every song to perfection. He's untouchable.

@TheJoec2005 many think the rehearsal was better than the actual show. I would have to see the whole thing again before really commenting. What little I've seen lately, of the rehearsal show, shows he is relaxed and having fun with the audience. Watch the expressions on his face as he's singing.......priceless.
