Hold their pay and vacation time until they come up with something. Sequester the congress and senate; they do it for Jury's why not politicians? Washington is and has been, for over a decade, running this country into the ground. I believe their pay must be reflective of our GDP, when it goes down so would thier salaries and be with held when they waste time.

I'm going to play the Devils advocate for a minute here. Government money? Their is very little that government profits at other then lottery tickets and land sales or leases. (drilling/mining permits) All that government has is taken thru taxation in one form or another. The argument is; What is the function of government. What is the function of the states? What is the Federal function? You may not like the Tea Party crowd but, they have a point.

The senate requires a 60 vote margin for most crap. The house is still a simple majority. If the GOP cant get support for something its only because the Tea Party crowd is stopping it.
