Before "throwing" the stunt men in the falls, the crane had been put to test with sandbags, but the rope broke and the bags fell onto the falls!
One the scaffolding secured, the stunt men took 40 seconds to fall, and 20 minutes to come back, soaked to the skin!
Jeremy Brett welcome them back with a bottle of Champagne.

The strength of film - I watched this episode after reading "The Final Problem", I knew that Sherlock didn't die, but I started to cry when he fell with Moriarty into a waterfall.

In a book talking about Jeremy Brett into his role of Sherlock Holmes: "Bending the Willow" by David Stuart Davies.

@izou136 Where'd you get the info? I'd like to know more about the series.

What is up with Moriarty in the begining? Like what is he a constapated dog or something?

Of course THOSE are dummies, no stuntman in the world's gonna want to hurl himself into that water, but the rest of the fall is stuntmen.

The music doesn't fit the scene. It should be fast and thrilling.

Eric Porter was, IMHO, the finest Moriarty ever. And Jeremy Brett and David Burke the finest Holmes and Watson. You have good taste, Sherlockian :-)
